PRIVACY  POLICY

There are four potential privacy issues and the Coordinator of the IARU Region 2 Monitoring System (MS) wishes to reassure you about all of them.

First, the identification of volunteer monitors. It is the general policy of the IARU Region 2 MS not to reveal the name or callsign of any volunteer monitor in connection with the monitoring of any specific intruder activity. In accordance with this policy, the callsigns of volunteer monitors are protected and are always suppressed whenever logs of intruder activity are published. Only the national society to whom the monitor reports is revealed in the published logs.

The only exception to this policy is in certain cases where no potential threat is perceived, such as in cases where the intruder is a friendly government or commercial radio station. In this circumstance, the name and/or callsign of the monitor might be mentioned in the course of discussion about the case and in order to give due credit to the monitor for the work and analysis that he or she has done. In any case, this information would not be released to the administration responsible for the intruding station or operator.

It is regrettable that in some circumstances this policy prevents giving proper credit for the fine work of many volunteer monitors. It is hoped that the national societies to which these volunteers report will be able to give them the recognition which they so rightly deserve.

Second, the gathering of information about visitors to this Website. We do not collect personal information, such as names, e-mail addresses or IP addresses, of visitors to these Web pages.

The only way in which your identity will be known is in case you send an e-mail message to the Webmaster (I hope that won't discourage you from communicating).

Third, no cookies are placed or used by this Website.

Finally, Java Scripting is not required in order to access any of the content of these Web pages, and you will not miss anything by disabling the Java Scripting in your browser.

If you have any questions or concerns about the application of these policies, please do not hesitate to contact the IARU Region 2 MS Coordinator.
